Erection support for your build

Erection on site is carried out by a contractor you appoint – your own crew or a local firm. Polarlog supplies the building package, the drawings and technical support, and we back that contractor up with assembly drawings, a package packed in build order and a named contact to call while the building goes up. Polarlog does not erect buildings and has no construction crew of its own; our partners in Norway, Germany and Sweden handle local dealings only.
What the site has to be ready for
- Any inspections your local building control requires have to be signed off before erection starts.
- Timber bundles need bearers underneath and protective tarpaulins on site before erection begins.
- Bundles are stacked close to the foundations so the crane lorry can reach and lift them without them being moved again.
- The site needs power, a welfare facilities and valid insurance in place – check what your local regulations require, as this differs by country.
- The inside of the foundation must be filled and compacted, and the outside must be levelled and cleaned.
- The customer must ensure that the foundations are built within the tolerances we specify and the formwork has been struck.
- Any additional work caused by delays or by repairs is chargeable by your erection contractor.
- The erection crew collects construction waste at a designated location on site.
- After erection, the work is checked against the contract you hold with your contractor.
- Safe metal scaffolding is hired by the customer or included in the contract with your erection contractor.
