Timber wall and roof panels from Finland – built in the factory, craned into place
Polarlog manufactures timber panels for projects of every size, from a single house to a housing scheme. We work with self-builders, contractors and developers, and we have been exporting Finnish timber structures for over 20 years, to Germany, Norway and Sweden. Tell us the drawings and the destination and we will handle the manufacture and the transport.
Why build with panelised timber
Fast erection saves money
Panelised timber can cut weeks off the site programme. Getting the building weathertight quickly reduces site costs, shortens the financing period and limits how long the structure stands exposed to weather – which matters more, not less, the further the site is from the factory.
Consistent and high quality
The panels are built indoors, in dry and controlled factory conditions, so the dimensions come out right and stay right. Airtightness and the structural build-up are checked at the factory rather than improvised on site in the rain.
Superior energy efficiency
Factory-built wall panels are airtight and evenly insulated, so the finished building holds its heat. We specify the insulation against your climate, not against Finland's, so the same house works in Devon and in Lapland.
An ecological and responsible choice
Wood is a renewable building material that stores carbon for the whole of its life cycle. Factory manufacturing also cuts construction waste on site.
The timber panels we supply
Wall panels
External and partition wall panels at whatever level of completion suits you: frame only, or insulated with windows, doors and external cladding already fitted. The further we take them, the less is left for your crew.
Roof panels
Roof panels for everything from a single detached house to terraces and larger buildings, made to your pitch and span.
One-off panels
We also make one-off panels straight from architects' drawings – gable triangles, floor cassettes and awkward shapes. Because they are machined rather than cut on site, they land exactly where the drawing says they land.
Timber panels are suitable for many purposes
Timber panels construction is flexible, efficient and well suited to a wide range of projects.
Detached houses and holiday homes
A fast, energy-efficient way to get the house you want built.
Terraced houses and semi-detached houses
Repeating wall panels suit series production, so a row of houses goes up quickly and to the same standard.
Public buildings
Schools, nurseries and care homes go up quickly, in a low-carbon, renewable material.

Frequently asked questions – Design, price and delivery of timber panels
The questions buyers ask us most often about panel deliveries, in the order they usually come up.
-
What is the typical delivery time for timber panels?
Typically 8–12 weeks from order, depending on the size of the project and the season, plus transport time to your site. We fix the exact schedule per project and give it to you with the quote.
-
How complete can the panels be when they arrive?
The level of completion is flexible. We can deliver just the frame structure or elements with factory-installed insulation, windows, doors and even external cladding panels.
-
How does prefabricated construction differ from traditional on-site construction?
Speed and consistency. Most of the work happens indoors under controlled conditions, so the structures stay dry and the tolerances are tighter. On an export project it also means less work – and less risk – at the far end.
-
Are timber panels suitable for winter construction?
Yes, they are ideal. A building can often be erected on its foundations and made weathertight in a matter of days, so winter has far less impact than it does with on-site construction.
